Common Problems and Solutions for Baghouse Dust Collectors

During the installation and operation of baghouse dust collectors, some minor problems often occur. These problems can seriously affect the working efficiency of the dust collector and cause certain economic losses to the enterprise. Therefore, ensuring the quality of equipment installation and avoiding unnecessary problems is very important.

1) Installation of the Support Structure: 

The support structure is the foundation of the baghouse dust collector.  Normally, the installation of the dust collector support structure requires welding the lower part of the foundation columns to the embedded base plates. However, errors in the embedded plates can occur during construction. Therefore, it is essential to adjust the verticality of the columns during installation; otherwise, the dimensions of the dust collector frame cannot be guaranteed. Generally, the reinforcing plates at the bottom of the columns are welded at the factory. Therefore, if such problems are encountered during installation, the solution will be very difficult. How to solve this problem? The columns and reinforcing plates welded at the factory can be cut apart. After adjusting the verticality of the columns, they can be welded together again, and finally, the embedded plates can be welded. During the installation process, checks should be performed using measuring tapes, spirit levels, and centerlines to ensure accuracy, and the welding process must meet the required standards.

2) Fabrication and Installation of the Hopper

The hopper is an important part of the dust collector. The dust collected by the dust collector is concentrated in the hopper for subsequent processing. Therefore, hopper installation is quite important. However, to save space and costs during transportation, the hopper components are fabricated and then assembled at the construction site. Due to the limitations of the construction site environment and space, hopper installation can be difficult.  Furthermore, the large space required for transporting the hopper plates increases transportation costs, and most importantly, the plates are prone to deformation during transportation, which increases the difficulty of installation. To address this situation, the hopper can be divided into two sections during fabrication.  To ensure installation strength and hopper quality, the seams around the hopper can be staggered. This significantly reduces the difficulty of hopper installation and ensures its quality. 

3) Ensuring the internal cleanliness of the bag filter:  

Many welding operations are involved during the installation of the bag filter, and there are many temporary supports inside the casing. Therefore, after the installation is complete, the ash discharge valve under the hopper should be removed, and the inside of the dust collector should be cleaned. After cleaning, the ash discharge valve can be reinstalled. Otherwise, clogging of the ash discharge valve is likely to occur during use, affecting the normal operation of the bag filter.

4) Installation of the casing: 

The casing mainly consists of the bottom ring beam, columns, top beam, and side wall panels. During the installation of the casing, due to site limitations, the bottom ring beam is lifted to the support position using a crane, and then assembled into a whole. Because the casing is relatively large, it is difficult to move it to the predetermined position after installation on the ground. The installation of the tube sheet is an important part of the bag filter installation, and it requires high airtightness. Therefore, punching can be used to make holes during installation to prevent deformation of the tube sheet.  Airtightness can be checked using the principle of watertightness. This installation method can solve some minor problems that may occur during installation and ensure installation quality.

5) Installation of the pulse valve: 

Leakage often occurs during the installation of the pulse valve. The main reasons are as follows: First, there is a gap between the pulse valve and the air bag, leading to leakage. Second, there are problems with the air bag structure. This problem can cause the spiral hole to connect the inside and outside, ultimately leading to leakage. To address these problems, during the installation of the pulse valve, attention should be paid to adjusting the gasket under the pulse valve according to the air bag to adjust the diameter. For bolt problems, they can be directly replaced. Through these adjustments, the installation quality of the pulse valve and the bag filter can be ensured.
