In terms of filtration materials and accuracy, baghouse dust collectors feature a diverse range of filter media including polyester, PE, polypropylene, aramid,
PPS and PTFE, with filtration accuracy determined by filter bags – the standard accuracy ranges from 5 to 10μm, and the maximum can reach 1μm.

Cartridge dust collectors commonly adopt polyester fiber, nanofiber, wood pulp paper and other filter materials, which can be processed with PTFE coating, flame-retardant, antistatic, oil and water repellent technologies.
The pleated structure of their filter media delivers a standard filtration accuracy of 1 to 5μm, with the high-precision version up to 0.5μm.
For volume and installation space requirements,
The pleated filter media of cartridge dust collectors provides a larger filtration area in the same volume, making the equipment much more compact than baghouses when handling the same air volume.
This makes cartridge dust collectors ideal for space-constrained application scenarios. In contrast, baghouses have non-pleated filter bags, resulting in a larger equipment size
for the same air volume and thus requiring more installation space.
When it comes to maintenance convenience and filter replacement, baghouse dust collectors are relatively difficult to maintain. Their filter replacement demands significant labor input and
often requires on-site staff to operate inside the equipment. Cartridge dust collectors support external quick replacement of filters, which effectively shortens downtime and reduces the overall maintenance cost.
Baghouse dust collectors excel in scenarios with high dust load and severe working conditions such as sawmills, cement production lines and the mining industry.
Their wide selection of filter media allows targeted adaptation to complex working conditions like high temperature, high humidity and corrosion, offering greater application flexibility.
Cartridge dust collectors are more suitable for controlling fine and dry dust in processes such as welding, metal processing and pharmaceutical production,
and are especially a perfect fit for small and medium-sized workshops with narrow plant space and limited installation positions.
Their customizable filter material processing (PTFE coating, flame-retardant, antistatic, oil and water repellent) enables targeted handling of special dust working conditions such as flammable and oil-containing dust.
In summary, baghouse dust collectors are the better choice for handling high-concentration heavy dust with sufficient on-site installation space.
For the control of fine particulate matter or hazardous dust such as flammable and explosive dust, while pursuing compact equipment, energy-saving and high-efficiency performance
as well as convenient operation and maintenance, cartridge dust collectors are the optimal solution. At present, cartridge dust collectors in various specifications can cover most industrial dust control application scenarios.
