Function of a Venturi Tube During Pulse Backflushing

Whether or not to use a Venturi tube is a question in itself. So, when is a Venturi tube used? 

Generally, we recommend using a Venturi tube for filter cartridges longer than one meter, 

but this doesn't mean that cartridges shorter than one meter don't need one; it depends on your specific backflushing design.

1. Venturi Tube

Also known as a Venturi tube, its main function is to induce secondary airflow. 

The principle of the Venturi effect is that when wind blows over an obstruction, the air pressure near the upper port on the leeward side of the obstruction is relatively low, 

thus creating an adsorption effect and causing airflow. 

The principle of the Venturi tube is actually very simple: it narrows the airflow to increase the gas velocity, creating a "vacuum" zone behind the Venturi tube outlet. 

Venturi tubes mainly utilize their jet suction effect, for example, in vacuum cleaners, powder conveyors, coolers, flow meters, dryers, etc. Jet pumps in the chemical industry also operate on this principle, 

so the material depends mainly on the application; there are various types, including iron, aluminum alloy, and plastic nylon.

2. Dust Removal Effect

During filter cartridge cleaning, the high-speed airflow passing through the venturi tube induces 5-8 times the amount of secondary air compared to the compressed air used for jet cleaning, causing the filter cartridge to expand rapidly and momentarily. Due to the reverse airflow, the dust accumulated on the filter cartridge falls off. The venturi tube significantly improves the intensity and effect of pulse jet cleaning, reduces the amount of compressed air used, and saves energy.

3. Advantages of Backflushing with Venturi Tube:

1) Good dust removal effect: It can evenly distribute the airflow onto the filter cartridge.

2) Increased backflushing airflow: Improves the backflushing effect.

3) Energy saving: Reducing the number of backflushing cycles reduces air consumption.

4) Extended filter cartridge life: High backflushing efficiency and fewer backflushing cycles extend the life of the filter cartridge.
