How to replacement of Oil Filters for Air Compressors?
Oil filters are another critical protective barrier for air compressors. They filter out metal particles and other impurities from the lubricating oil,
ensuring oil purity and protecting the normal operation of the compressor’s oil circuit system and related equipment.
If an air compressor’s oil filter malfunctions or gets clogged with particulate impurities, it may cause the compressor to overheat and potentially shorten the machine’s service life.
Filtered oil maintains consistent oil quality for the equipment. The oil filter is generally recommended for replacement after 2000 hours of operation,
with the interval adjustable according to the compressor’s actual operating conditions. The oil filter must also be replaced whenever the compressor’s lubricating oil is changed.
Step-by-Step Oil Filter Replacement:
1. Shut down the air compressor and release all internal pressure before replacement. Additionally, exercise caution with hot oil to avoid scalding.
2. Rotate and remove the old oil filter, then discard the used filter element.
3. Install a new oil filter: apply a thin layer of oil to the filter’s sealing gasket for an airtight seal, and ensure the filter is tightly fastened during installation.
4. After replacement, start the compressor and check for oil leaks. The equipment can be put into normal operation if no leaks are detected.
