Common Issues of Filter Bags in Baghouse Dust Collectors During Use

Pre-Installation Inspection of Baghouse Dust Collectors

1. Main Body Inspection

Baghouse dust collectors undergo quality inspection and no-load operation before leaving the factory, with performance meeting factory standards.

However, collisions during disassembly, assembly and transportation may cause equipment deformation, which must be corrected promptly.

2. Filter Bag and Cage Inspection

Filter bag quality directly affects dust removal efficiency. Therefore, before installation, strictly check each filter bag to ensure its seams are firm and free of thread breakage, damage, or other defects.

3. Ash Discharge Device Inspection

The ash discharge device is located in the lower box of the baghouse. Composed of a motor, worm gear reducer and screw ash discharge valve,

it requires the output shaft and input shaft to be concentric during assembly to ensure smooth operation.

4. Injection System Inspection

The injection system consists of an air tank, control valve, pulse valve, injection pipe, etc. Its processing quality directly impacts the ash cleaning effect and compressed air consumption.

5. Controller Inspection

Controllers (electronic, pneumatic, mechanical) must be inspected and debugged before installation, and can only be installed after confirming no faults.

Checking Causes of Filter Bag Damage

Identify and record the causes of filter bag damage—whether it results from excessive dust temperature, overly high wind speed, or quality issues.

1.Inspection and handling must avoid ash cleaning periods or be conducted after shutdown. Meanwhile, post a warning sign and proceed only when safety is guaranteed.

2.Record damaged bags, identify the root causes, and address the problem fundamentally. If damaged bags consistently occur in a specific chamber or location,

investigate potential issues in system design and installation.

3.If no damaged bags are found after opening all access doors but the outlet emission concentration still exceeds the standard, check the tube sheet or flue partition for missing welds.

How to Solve Filter Bag Damage?

For large-area damage, replace filter bags promptly. During replacement, turn off the ash cleaning controller, open the top manhole cover, and then remove the bags.

To disassemble, first take out the bag cage, pinch the spring ring at the top of the bag into a concave shape, and pull the bag upward. Before installing new bags,

clean dust from the tube sheet holes thoroughly.Even if not damaged, replace filter bags when fine dust accumulates inside, reducing air permeability and affecting system air volume after long-term use.
